#PinkOctober: Let’s sail together towards a single route in the Month of Prevention of Breast Cancer
October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We were happy to take part in an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Venice in collaboration with Alilaguna and Ulss 3 to support an important campaign: Prevention is Life! Every Monday in October, a pink vaporetto, the Venetian public waterbus, travels through the metropolitan area of Venice, offering women the chance to undergo free breast screening.
Last Monday, October 14, the pink vaporetto stopped in Marghera Port, closed to Asian Logistics headquarter. The doctors and volunteers welcomed us on board with open arms.
Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in women and the second most common cancer overall. It is also the one where the highest recovery rates are recorded (87% in 2018) thanks to primary prevention. For this reason prevention and awareness are very important.
