Freight forwarders Italy China in the wake of the Air Silk Road
On 13 January 2020, China and Italy signed MoU to expand bilateral air services. According to this agreement, flights between Italy and China will increase a lot.
The Memorandum of Understanding comes close to the Chinese New Year, which is the most important traditional festival in China, starting on January 25th.
The agreement establishes an important milestone in the international shipping industry between Italy and China: after the maritime Silk Road and the New Silk Road, an Air Silk Road is taking shape as well.
The text of the agreement provides a general expansion of the air connections between the two countries.
Cargo flights will increase by fourteen frequencies per week. The goods will be also stuffed in the hold of the passenger planes, which will increase up to 164 weekly flights per side.
As underlined by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Paola De Micheli: “Italy is becoming the European nation with the highest number of air connections with China”.
For sure the Chinese New Year will start with a bang!
