Venice represents for us our job and much more: an artistic treasure to admire, a historical heritage to respect, traditions and joyful folk festivals to share with everyone!
The just celebrated Redentore is one of the most sincerely felt festivities by the Venetians attracting also thousands of visitors. Redentore combines spectacle and tradition: enthusiasm, boats and terraces decorated with colourful balloons and the wonderful fireworks lighting up the entire city.
All this makes us even more proud to promote what we, as freight forwarder Italy, offer with passion and dedication: event logistics and art transportation services in Venice. We do it with respect for the historic and artistic heritage of the city.
About Redentore
The Redentore Festival in Venice has its origins in 1577 and commemorates the end of a terrible plague that pained the city. The pestilence caused the death of hundreds of people of every social class and it infected more than 50.000 people in Venice in less than 2 years.
According to a legend, Venice was freed from the plague thanks to the prayers of the population and the solemn vow of the Doge Alvise Mocenigo, who vowed to build a beautiful church if the Republic of Venice had survived to the terrible disease.
On 13 July 1577 the plague was declared definitively eradicated and it was decided to celebrate the liberation from the plague on the third Sunday of July, with a religious celebration and a popular festival.
