Valuable goods + Urgency + Expensive air freight shipment + Delivery in the Southwest China = Rail freight transport from Italy to China
These are the elements that made our client choose the rail freight transport to ship his goods from Italy to China.
The client is a well-known Italian car manufacturer based in Piemonte Italian region: he needed to ship spare parts to his Chinese plant.
Considering the high value of the goods and the urgent delivery times, the decision to ship by rail freight transport was the most suitable solution.
More generally, the rail freight transport from Italy to China represents an excellent compromise between the air freight shipment, faster but costly, and the sea freight transport, slower but way cheaper. The rail freight transport takes a transit time of about 22-24 days and is also more sustainable for the environment.
Even the geographical position is a key element: China is a very extensive territory and, in our case, the delivery location is located in the hinterland, in the southwestern province of Sichuan, far from sea ports and better served by the Trans-Siberian Railway.
Regarding the loading operations, we managed the road transport of 1X40’HC with goods pick up from our client’s warehouse and container delivery at Busto Arsizio railway terminal, in Lombardia region, Italy. Our container arrived in Chengdu, via Duisburg, and was delivered by truck to the Chinese plant. With a total transit time of 22 days, we combined together the key elements to make our customer satisfied.
