Crushers and screeners with destination Salalah: a crushing experience with a “constructive” approach
Two sea freight shipments with seven containers each. These are the sea freight shipments we handled from Ancona Port in Italy to Salalah Port in Oman: two crushing and screening plants to be used for the aggregates production in the construction field (rock aggregates for road construction, cement conglomerates etc..)
The transport, on EXW basis, was commisioned by the Omani client, through our local logistics partner.
From the export customs clearance’s point of view, these sea freight shipments were treated like standard shipments of general cargo from Italy to the EXTRA-EU countries.
The infrastructure sector in Oman
Omani growing demand for construction machinery from contractors, government organisations and rental businesses reflects the good economic performance of the Sultanate in terms of funds allocated for infrastructure development.
According to local media sources, “the sultanate’s government has allocated RO1.2bn for infrastructure development in 2019 state budget: construction of hospitals in Salalah, Khasab, and Suwaiq, construction of 400 housing units, implementation of Adam-Thumrait road dualisation project etc.. (muscatdaily.com)
Many Italian companies are already contributing to the design and construction phases of roads, airports, ports and dams, residential buildings, schools and hospitals, etc.In terms of numbers on trade exchanges, in 2018 Italy exported to Oman machinery and equipment for a value of 370.27 million €. Cooperation between Italy and Oman will become more and more “constructive”!
