Customs procedures

The Client of Asian Logistics is provided with a complete turnkey solution assisting along the entire transportation chain and including the documentation required by the various countries.

A very important link in the chain of transportation is represented by the customs operations in the ports, airports and intermodal centers; particularly in the importations from Third Countries where customs clearance plays a fundamental role.

We, as Asian Logistics put at our clients’ disposal our long-standing experience on customs formalities, with our in-house expert staff and with customs brokers operating at major Italian Customs (Venice, Padua, Milan, Rome, Trieste, Ravenna, Ancona, Genoa, La Spezia, Leghorn and Naples).

Thanks to the simplified procedure we are able to carry out customs formalities in our warehouses both in import and in export.

EXPORT CUSTOMS

Which documents are needed for a standard shipment of general cargo from Italy to the EXTRA-EU countries?

  • Sales invoice of the exporting company
  • If not present on the invoice, it is necessary to attach a packing-list indicating the number of packages, the gross and net weight, and preferably the HS CODE of the articles (in case of goods FREE OF CHARGE you have to indicate the “value only for customs purposes”)
  • Dual use declaration must be filled out with signature and stamp (on the headed paper of the exporting company), accompanied by the identity document of the legal representative.

Dual Use Declaration
And if you need the EUR1?

In this case the exporting company must fill out with signature and stamp the mandate contract for issuing EUR 1, putting it on letterhead.

EUR1, also known as Movement Certificate, is a document that is requested from the Export Customs to certify the preferential origin of the goods. This trade document allows importers located in European Union or countries with which the EU has signed a Free Trade Agreement, to import goods with a reduction or even an exemption from import duties.

If you have the status of authorized exporter, you do not need to apply for EUR1. In this case, the preferential origin of their goods is attested directly on the sales invoice.

What is Importer Security Filing (ISF) – 10+2?

Sea freight shipments to the US require the compilation of the ISF (Importer Security Filing), also known as “10 + 2 Rule”, which requires containerized cargo information, for security purposes, to be transmitted to the agency at least 24 hours before goods are loaded onto an ocean vessel headed to the U.S. for shipment into the U.S.

Therefore the Supplier/Shipper can assist the Buyer/Consignee by providing the necessary details within the requested deadline.

When do you need the ATR?

An ATR or A.TR is a customs certificate for the movement of industrial products.

It grants preferential rates of duty (mostly zero) for imports and exports between the European Union and Turkey.

The purpose of an ATR Movement Certificate is to declare that the goods to be exported from the EU to Turkey (or imported to the EU from Turkey) are either manufactured in, or, irrespective of their origin, have free circulation status within the EU (or Turkey).

The ATR has a duration of 4 months and can also be issued retrospectively or duplicated.

If requested, the exporting company must fill out the ATR mandate and send it back with signature and stamp (on the headed paper of the exporting company).
