It is indeed necessary to remember that when a client entrusts his goods to a carrier, the latter acts in his name but for account of the principal (owner of the goods) with the purpose to conclude a contract of transportation and to carry out the accessory operations that derive from it. In case of damage, the carrier will therefore be liable for the sole carrier’s responsibility, and thus not covering all the risks and the entire value of the goods.
