#CIAOUNIQLO! #LOGISTICSFORUNIQLO: Our International Shipping & Logistics services “wearing” the Japanese fashion brand
The first UNIQLO Italian store opens its doors to visitors today, 13th September, in Piazza Cordusio, in the heart of Milan.
Uniqlo, the worldwide known japanese brand, has just opened his new 1.500 mq Flagship Store in Milano, where it’s now possible to purchase UNIQLO women’s, men’s and children’s best essentials or clothes and accessories.
In collaboration with our Japanese agent, the official supplier of the fashion brand, we managed the international shipping and logistics operations related to the shop-fitting of the first UNIQLO Italian Store.
The whole shop-fitting was imported from Asia through five sea freight shipments (four containers from Shanghai, China, and one container from Yokohama, Japan) and one air freight shipment. To avoid any possible delay, the International Shipping was organized in such a way as to anticipate the arrival of three weeks from the established date.
Once arrived at the port of Genoa, the containers were transferred to Milan customs warehouse using the T1 transit declaration. In the same time and place, have been made also the containers unstuffing and the customs clearance operations. The goods were then palletised and stored until the final delivery.
Taking in consideration it is forbidden for vehicles, especially the heavy ones, to enter the city center of Milan, we had to request a special permit from the police to circulate freely. The authorisation was valid for a week, the time necessary to run the unloading operations in the reserved area closed to UNIQLO building.
The store assembly and the set-up team were made by two experts workers hired by us and ten employees coming from our Japanese agent’s branch in France. Our two experts have also attended a dedicated training held by our logistics partner.
After completing the move and settled all the packaging, we were able to hand over the keys of the store to our customer, ready to be “dressed” in the UNIQLO look.
